Moms in New Hampshire

10,581 MEMBERS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Moms are working in New Hampshire to fight for clean air and a stable climate. We host events, share information about what’s going on, and create opportunities for mothers to talk to their legislators about their concerns. Please join us in New Hampshire, and let us know about your priorities.

What We’re Working On

Tell Governor Ayotte: Lead on Climate Safety

It is more important than ever for states to act on climate change. States—and their governors—can be powerful leaders in building a clean energy economy. That’s why we’re asking Governor Ayotte to step up to slash climate pollution, protect children’s health, and ensure clean air for all. Our future depends on it.

Meet Your New Hampshire State Organizer

Elizabeth Hauptman

Elizabeth is Moms’ field organizer in Brighton, Michigan. She also coordinates volunteer engagement for Moms across the U.S. She serves on Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin’s Environmental Advisory Board and the Brighton Area Chamber Environmental Council. Elizabeth’s work with Moms is deeply personal because her son suffers from asthma and is affected by poor air quality.

Highlights

  • New Hampshire Moms testify at EPA hearings, urging the agency not to roll back pollution protections for fossil fuel power plants. In July 2025, Moms’ Maria Finnegan joined clean air advocates from across the country to share firsthand stories of why our families deserve to be safeguarded from harmful greenhouse gas and mercury pollution. Read Maria’s testimony about greenhouse gas pollution from power plants and the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards.
  • Moms and Senators celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. In November 2023, Moms’ Almeta Cooper joined Senators Maggie Hassan (NH), Chuck Schumer (NY), Debbie Stabenow (MI), Tom Carper (DE), John Hickenlooper (CO), and Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) to tout Bipartisan Infrastructure Law successes, including thousands of new electric school buses on the road. Read more.
  • New Hampshire Moms raise alarm bells over West Coast wildfire smoke. In July 2021, In Depth New Hampshire interviewed Moms’ Trisha Dello Iacono about the wildfire smoke drifting across the country. Trisha shared, “The haze all around is a reminder that deadly heat and wildfires—both driven by runaway climate change—have impacts that go far and wide.”
  • New Hampshire members joined Moms nationwide to tell EPA to strengthen federal ozone pollution protections. In September 2020, Moms’ Trisha Dello Iacono testified at a virtual hearing about poor air quality in the Northeast. She called on EPA to follow the science and strengthen the ozone rule. Read her testimony.
  • Elected officials show their commitment to fighting for our children at the New Hampshire Play-In for Our Future. In September 2018, New Hampshire Moms hosted a Play-In for Our Future at the State House in Concord. Speakers included U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan, Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster, and State Senator Dan Feltes.

Why We Care

Sea-level rise fueled by climate change poses a significant risk to New Hampshire communities. Hampton, New Castle, Rye, and Seabrook are particularly vulnerable and are already working to adapt to frequent flooding. By 2100, more than 5,000 New Hampshire homes will be at risk of chronic flooding.

Warmer temperatures associated with global heating have caused the tick population to flourish into a significant problem in New Hampshire. More ticks mean more tick-borne illnesses, like Lyme. Ticks also threaten the health of our moose population.
