Tell the Senate: Support Commonsense Climate Investments

Tell the Senate: Support Commonsense Climate Investments

On November 19, the House of Representatives passed the largest single investment in climate solutions in US history. Now we need the Senate to take action to pass this package. From making clean energy and transportation more affordable for families to cleaning up legacy pollution to putting millions of people to work in high-wage, in-demand jobs—the climate investment being considered in Congress is the most ambitious effort to cut climate pollution and address environmental justice that the US has ever seen.

SPEAK OUT: Tell your Senators to pass commonsense, future-minded climate investments—to set us on track to meet US climate targets and safeguard our children’s future.

Tell Senators: Help Get Electric School Bus Funding into Our State

Tell Senators: Help Get Electric School Bus Funding into Our State

In May 2022, EPA opened applications for its Clean School Bus Program, a $5 billion program that will help school districts across the country replace older diesel school buses with zero-tailpipe-pollution electric buses. This new EPA program is a historic opportunity to invest in cleaner, healthier transportation for our children, and we can’t let this moment pass us by.

SPEAK OUT: Contact your Senators to ask them for help getting Clean School Bus Program funding into school districts in your state.

Tell EPA: Thank You for Objecting to Colorado's Permit Renewal for Suncor Refinery

Tell EPA: Thank You for Objecting to Colorado’s Permit Renewal for Suncor Refinery

For over 10 years, Suncor has been operating on expired permits to which the state has turned a blind eye even as the health of nearby families is being put at risk. North Denver, Colorado families are repeatedly subjected to the harmful pollution spewing into neighborhoods from the Suncor Refinery.

Finally, there is a glimmer of justice. The Environmental Protection Agency heard us and is taking action.

SPEAK OUT: Thank the EPA today! This is a testament to what we can do when moms work together and keep speaking up.

Tell the Senate: Support Black Maternal Health in Climate Investment Package

Tell the Senate: Support Black Maternal Health in Climate Investment Package

Right now, the Senate is considering federal investments in clean energy, clean air, and climate solutions. This is an important moment for the Senate to commit to historic investments in improving maternal health and addressing the enormous and unjust health disparities faced by Black women before, during, and after pregnancy.

We know that communities of color are hardest hit by health impacts from climate change. Raise your voice to tell the Senate to invest in improving Black maternal health, including investing community-based programs and identifying climate risk zones for pregnant and postpartum people.

SPEAK OUT: Tell the Senate to support Black maternal health in the climate investment package.

Tell EPA: Stop the Chemical Industry’s Attempts to Cripple Our Hard-won Toxics Law

Tell EPA: Stop the Chemical Industry’s Attempts to Cripple Our Hard-won Toxics Law

The recent headlines have been shocking: toxic chemicals in our everyday stuff — furniture, cleaning supplies, shampoo — are interfering with our ability to reproduce.

Our chemical regulatory system has been rigged in favor of bringing new chemicals to market, instead of protecting our health from potential harms. Even after our chemical policy was updated in 2016, with strong bipartisan support, the implementation of the new law under Trump's EPA fell far short of its mission to protect public health.

SPEAK OUT: We know we can do better — and we know our children, and their children, are counting on it. Tell EPA Administrator Michael Regan to protect our children from toxic chemicals.

Tell Congress: Support the Civilian Climate Corps for Jobs and Justice Act

Tell Congress: Support the Civilian Climate Corps for Jobs and Justice Act

Congress is considering funding a bold new program to put millions of people to work in good-paying jobs that will move our economy and infrastructure toward a clean energy economy to help stop the climate crisis. The Civilian Climate Corps for Jobs and Justice Act will create this program.

SPEAK OUT: Tell Congress to support the Civilian Climate Corps.

Tell Congress: Support the Baby Food Safety Act

Tell Congress: Support the Baby Food Safety Act

Two recent congressional reports found significant levels of toxic heavy metals in baby food—both conventional and organic. Lead. Arsenic. Cadmium. Mercury. These are poisonous to a baby’s developing brain and nervous system.

The Baby Food Safety Act would address this problem by dramatically reducing toxic heavy metals in baby food, educating parents about the risks, and investing in researching ways to reduce toxic heavy metals in crops and soil.

SPEAK OUT: Tell Congress to protect our babies by supporting the Baby Food Safety Act.

Tell Congress: Support the Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act

Tell Congress: Support the Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act

We are facing a crisis in this country: too much plastic. Plastic is made from fossil fuels by processes that cause air pollution and contribute to climate change. Most plastic is never recycled — over 90% of it ends up in landfills or our oceans.

The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act of 2021 will tackle the exploding crisis of plastic pollution and transform waste and recycling management in the United States.

SPEAK OUT: Join moms across the country in asking our members of Congress to support the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act.

Tell the Senate: End Fossil Fuel Tax Breaks and Subsidies

Tell the Senate: End Fossil Fuel Tax Breaks and Subsidies

Oil and gas giants - some of the world’s most profitable companies - are granted hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks and subsidies each year—even though these are old industries that have not needed the financial boost for many decades. Meanwhile, they pay absolutely no price for the damage they are doing to our health, and in climate chaos.

Our investments must go to the deployment of clean renewable energy.

SPEAK OUT: Tell the Senate to stop the money pipeline. It is past time for an overhaul of fossil fuel tax breaks and subsidies.

Tell Your Governor: Take the Lead on Climate Action

Tell Your Governor: Take the Lead on Climate Action

It is more important than ever for states and cities to take action on climate change. States—and their governors—can be powerful leaders in reducing climate pollution and spurring a clean energy economy.

SPEAK OUT: Tell your governor to lead the way in building a clean, safe, stable and economically vibrant future for all.
