Accelerating the transition to zero-tailpipe-pollution electric vehicles (EVs) is key to cleaning up the air our families breathe. Unlike fossil-fueled cars, trucks, and buses, EVs do not produce toxic exhaust that harms our lungs, hearts, and brains.
- People with asthma are particularly vulnerable to the health impacts of dirty air. In a Billy Penn op-ed, Pennsylvania field organizer Brooke Petry (above) shares her family’s experience living with asthma in Philadelphia, where vehicles are a leading source of air pollution.
- For some, the health impacts are significant. Arizona field organizer Hazel Chandler, who lives with both asthma and cancer, suffered a coughing episode last year so intense that it led to hairline fractures in her spine. Hazel tells Cronkite News that the coughing started after a period of poor air quality.
- That’s why Moms are celebrating every win on the road to a future free of tailpipe pollution. The Buzz EV News reports on a recent delivery celebration that Moms attended in West Virginia.
