Passenger vehicles are now the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the US, and gas prices are expected soon to reach their highest level in four years. But instead of shoring up national standards that keep our cars on track to put less pollution in the air and burn less gas, the Trump administration is trying to slam the brakes on our nation’s existing vehicle greenhouse gas emission standards.
Better known as America’s “clean car standards,” these standards help keep our air clean, protect our children from climate change, and save us money at the pump. They are already in place and they are working.
Because the Trump administration is making a policy U-turn that will harm our kids, Moms Clean Air Force has collected signatures on a petition directed at automakers to hear it directly from parents: We want them to lead on clean cars.
For more than a year, Moms Clean Air Force members have been writing letters, signing petitions, and speaking at hearings to oppose any rollback to the clean car standards. On May 22, 2018, a delegation of Midwestern moms delivered thousands signatures to the corporate headquarters of the Big Three automakers: Ford, GM, and Chrysler.
Thank you for joining with us, by the thousands, to tell US automakers to stand up for our families and our children’s health.
