On February 8, Moms Clean Air Force will host an inaugural gathering on a topic central to our work: Climate Disruption, Air Pollution, and Young People’s Health. Featuring EPA Administrator Michael Regan and White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Brenda Mallory, this event will provide a platform for crucial conversations among leaders in climate advocacy and children’s health.
Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, will take the stage during the event for an interview by Parents editor-in-chief Grace Bastidas. Chelsea will speak to why the intersection of climate advocacy and children’s health is integral to the Clinton Foundation’s Too Small to Fail program.
Also featured in the program are two panel discussions with prominent public health and environmental advocates—including Dr. Lisa Patel, Judith Enck, and Aishah-Nyeta Brown, among others. The first panel explores the impact of climate disruption and air pollution on young people’s well-being. Panelists will highlight the physical and mental health risks of our changing climate to young people, pregnant people, and communities on the frontlines of industrial pollution and extreme weather.
The second panel presents solutions to these challenges by showcasing opportunities to build a better future. Panelists will discuss a wide spectrum of innovations that are already contributing to a healthier, safer world for young people. Topics include climate art, storytelling, novel policy approaches, and more.
The event will be exclusively livestreamed by Parents for a global audience. Stay tuned! We’ll share registration details next week.
We hope this will be a pivotal moment in the movement to overcome the distinct climate challenges confronting our youth. Only by making space for these conversations can we make headway in protecting children from air pollution and providing them a stable climate.
