Banning vinyl chloride is a top priority for Moms Clean Air Force. This toxic petrochemical is a known human carcinogen, and yet the U.S. keeps producing tens of billions of pounds of it each year. Almost all of it is used to make polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the plastic that’s used to make everything from drinking water pipes to children’s toys.
Now, EPA is proposing to designate vinyl chloride as a high-priority substance. As part of its initial assessment, the agency is collecting public comments for 90 days. This is our chance to speak up in support of banning this dangerous chemical!
