The election is just weeks away, and a major hurricane is bearing down on Florida. Hurricane Helene is another scary reminder that our climate and children’s health must be a priority when we head out to vote on Election Day.
Next Tuesday, October 1, we have an opportunity to hear from the Vice Presidential candidates, JD Vance and Tim Walz, about how they will address extreme weather and the climate crisis. They will face off in a debate hosted by CBS News.
Now’s your opportunity to contact the debate moderators and tell them that we deserve to know the candidates’ detailed plans to address climate disruption.
Tell CBS News: Ask a Climate Question at the VP Debate
Anyone seeking one of the highest offices in our country must have a plan to reduce air and climate pollution, transition to clean energy and transportation, and ensure our communities are resilient in the face of climate-fueled extreme weather. And they must be able to speak about this plan in a substantive way.
So I hope you’ll join me and the thousands of moms who are demanding climate answers in this Vice Presidential debate.
