Julie Kimmel is the Manager for Member Cultivation. Drawing on her background in community organizing, she coordinates email outreach to membership and supports the Moms Clean Air Force web and media teams.
In 2017, Julie co-founded the local climate action group 350 Fairfax in Fairfax County, Virginia, and two years later, she helped organize the Fairfax County chapter of Mothers Out Front. She served on Fairfax County’s Community-Wide Energy and Climate Action Plan Working Group in 2020-21, and she currently serves on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ Air and Climate Public Advisory Committee. She continues to advocate locally on climate issues, including transitioning to renewable energy, reducing plastic pollution, and electrifying school and transit bus fleets. Her work with Moms Clean Air Force has been featured on FOX5 DC and in the Virginia Dogwood.
Julie spends her free time taking her daughter on “adventures,” laughing with her husband, doing puzzles of all kinds, and running ultramarathons.
