Senior Manager, Editorial and Member Cultivation

Julie Kimmel is the Senior Manager for Editorial and Member Cultivation. Drawing on her background in editing and publishing, she manages the Moms Clean Air Force website, email outreach to members, and membership growth.

In 2017, Julie co-founded the local climate action group 350 Fairfax in Fairfax County, Virginia, and two years later, she helped organize the Fairfax County chapter of Mothers Out Front. She served on Fairfax County’s Community-Wide Energy and Climate Action Plan Working Group in 2020-21, and she served as Chair of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ Air and Climate Public Advisory Committee in 2024. She continues to advocate locally on climate issues, including transitioning to renewable energy, reducing plastic pollution, and electrifying school and transit bus fleets. Her work with Moms Clean Air Force has been featured by FOX5 DC and the Virginia Dogwood here and here.

Julie spends her free time taking her daughter on “adventures,” laughing with her husband, doing puzzles of all kinds, and running ultramarathons.
