We were excited to host our 6th annual Play-In for Climate Action on Thursday, July 11th in Washington, DC. Kids played and danced to the music of Latin GRAMMY Award-winning children’s musician, Mister G. Over 500 parents and children from 27 states gathered to listen to inspiring speakers, legislators, and student activists promise they will fight for climate safety, fight to keep toxic chemicals out of our homes, and fight to stop the corruption at the EPA. Then families took the fight up to Capitol Hill, delivering a public message to 100 Congressional offices: It’s time to get serious about climate change!

This year’s family-friendly protest kicked off with Emmy award-winning journalist and mother, Vanessa Hauc introducing an impressive line-up of speakers: Dominique Browning, Co-founder and Senior Director of Moms Clean Air Force; Senator Tom Carper (D-DE); Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D-FL); Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA); Congresswoman Deb Haaland (D-NM); Salvador Hernandez, Mi Familia Vota; Kristin Hogue, Earth Uprising International; Great Grandmother Mary Lyons, Social Justice Advocate; Rev. Michael Malcom, Interfaith Power and Light; Congressman A. Donald McEachin (D-VA); Heather McTeer Toney, National Field Director of Moms Clean Air Force; Congresswoman Kim Schrier (D-WA); Alexandria Villaseñor, 14-year-old climate justice activist; and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).
