As Moms, the affordability crisis is already daunting. We’re paying more for everything from groceries to energy bills. And thanks to Trump’s efforts to prop up the dirty, expensive coal industry and block clean energy projects, we can expect bills to continue going up.
But yesterday, the Energy Bills Relief Act was introduced in Congress to help families afford to keep their electricity running while bringing more clean energy onto the grid. Moms are calling on Congress to support this bill and stand up to Trump’s expensive energy policies.
Tell Congress: Support the Energy Bills Relief Act
The Trump administration has made clear that they will not stop financing dirty, outdated fossil fuel projects—especially polluting coal plants—to the tune of millions of dollars that we pay back in our energy bills.
They’ve also canceled previously approved funding for 223 clean energy projects and delayed or revoked federal approval for over 60 solar and wind projects—efforts that would clean up the air we breathe and bring down electricity costs.
The Energy Bills Relief Act supports cheaper, cleaner energy through tax credits for solar energy for our homes and small businesses plus funding for new clean energy infrastructure in our communities. It also prevents Trump from abusing his power by blocking clean energy projects.
The Energy Bills Relief Act will lower our electricity bills and prioritize our families’ health by building a sustainable future for all our children, including my two sons.
This bill is a chance to finally help our families who have been suffering under the financial burden of skyrocketing energy costs thanks to Trump’s embrace of dirty, expensive fossil fuel projects and war on clean energy.
Make sure Congress puts families, and their finances, first. Join Moms in telling our lawmakers we need energy bill relief.
