The Colorado Senate created landmark legislation last week that would overhaul how oil and gas is regulated in Colorado. The bill will strengthen oversight of oil and gas operations across the state, and prioritize protection of public health and the environment by empowering local governments to regulate air pollution.
This is a victory for Colorado families because it will curb dangerous methane emissions, while also helping to prevent catastrophic well explosions.
As Trump’s EPA continues its assault on federal methane protections, it is more important than ever to boldly cut methane and fight climate change.
Colorado moms thank the fierce leadership of Gov. Jared Polis, Senate Majority Leader Steve Fenberg, House Speaker KC Becker and Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Director, Jeff Robbins, for making this legislation possible.
