The heat dome blanketing two-thirds of the U.S. last week—which killed dozens—was no coincidence. This deadly weather is made worse by global warming, caused by the burning of fossil fuels that produce heat-trapping greenhouse gases. So why is the Trump administration spending billions to prop up fossil fuels, like dirty coal and gas, and roll back climate and clean air protections?
We can’t afford a government that continues to choose polluters over people—and science denial over truth.
Next year will be pivotal for climate action. The decisions made in the coming months will determine whether we avert the worst of what’s coming or lock in decades of damage our children will inherit.
