In celebration of Children’s Health Month and the 10th anniversary of Children’s Environmental Health Day on October 9, 2025, Moms Clean Air Force has joined the Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN) and Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) in support of the Child Health Champion campaign to build grassroots advocacy, empower caregivers to tell their elected officials to take action to protect children’s health, and proclaim the importance of Children’s Environmental Health Day and Children’s Health Month. This national campaign is of critical significance in the face of federal clean air and climate policy rollbacks, cuts to critical programs, and growing public health cuts affecting children and their families.

What is Children’s Environmental Health Day?
Children’s Environmental Health Day is the second Thursday of October each year. It's based on the idea that together we can create a healthier, safer, more equitable world—where fewer children suffer from preventable health issues.
Focused on action and equity, the goal of Children's Environmental Health Day is to collectively increase the visibility of children's environmental health issues while empowering individuals and organizations to take action on behalf of children nationwide. We believe that all children have the right to healthy environments in which to thrive.

What You Can Do Now to Protect Children’s Health
Take the pledge
Anyone who wants to protect children’s health can take the Child Health Champion pledge:
Every child deserves to breathe clean, healthy air. This October, I pledge to be a child’s health champion and to use my voice to advocate for clean air for all children. I am asking my family, friends, neighbors, and public officials to protect our children’s future by preserving clean, healthy air.
Tell your elected officials to protect clean, healthy air for children
Child Health Champions are encouraged to prepare and schedule meetings with their elected officials. Use these meetings as an opportunity to help frame children’s environmental health as a unifying, nonpartisan issue.
