On plant’s anniversary, Beaver County residents and orgs call for accountability, and for local electeds to take action on emergency response plan.
Beaver County, PA —For one year, Shell has promised to be a good neighbor – but since opening last year, the Monaca plant has released illegal amounts of dangerous pollution, had dozens of malfunctions, and received 13 Notices of Violation.
More must be done to provide the community with real time information during malfunctions. The group will also call on local elected officials and Beaver County Commissioners to do more to keep residents safe.
