WHAT: Media are invited to join Moms Clean Air Force for a panel on “Chemical Recycling: What It Really Is and How It Could Impact Pennsylvania Residents.” Chemical recycling, also known as “advanced recycling,” is a greenwashed term for incineration. Trash that enters these “recycling” facilities is not recycled-–it is burned, and in the process, toxic pollution is pumped into the air we breathe. During this online conversation, panelists cover a general technical description of advanced recycling processes and their health impacts with an environmental justice perspective. Panelists also discuss policy that affects the regulation of advanced recycling and the $1.1 billion dollar facility coming to Point Township, PA.
