Press Statement January 31, 2022

Contact: Sasha Tenenbaum, stenenbaum@momscleanairforce.org, (917)887- 0146

WHAT: To kick off Black History Month—a fitting time to discuss the state of environmental justice and health—Georgia media is invited to join us for “Climate, Health Equity—And Inequity: What Must Be Done in Georgia and Beyond.” This online roundtable conversation convened by Moms Clean Air Force will bring together experts in a discussion of the intersection between climate and health equity. Panelists will connect the real-life impact of climate change to human health and discuss the leading solutions for improving families’ health, including how the audience can engage with lawmakers and health care experts to demand stronger protections from climate and air pollution.

WHO: The program will be moderated by Almeta Cooper of Moms Clean Air Force and features:

  • Georgia State Representative Mandisha A. Thomas
  • Dr. Yolanda Whyte, Environmental Health Consultant
  • Dr. Preeti Jaggi, Decatur Cares About Climate!
  • Mia Delamar, Georgia Conservation Voters

WHEN: The discussion will broadcast on Facebook Live Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 12 to 1 PM ET and rebroadcast Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 3 to 4 PM ET.
