Flagstaff, AZ – On Wednesday, July 28 at 9:30 AM PST, Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy will join local community leaders for an engaging and informative in-person press conference to call for bold federal investments in clean transportation infrastructure and to support the expansion of electric buses in Flagstaff and on Navajo Nation and Northern parts of Arizona.
Featured speakers include Flagstaff area elected officials, clean vehicle advocates and tribal members from the Navajo Nation, who will underscore why now is the time for Congress and the Biden administration to boldly invest in infrastructure that addresses the climate crisis. This event will be hosted by Moms Clean Air Force.
Transportation accounts for almost a third of all U.S. air pollution and is the single largest source of climate-harming carbon pollution in the United States. Investments in clean transportation are essential to reduce air pollution in the City of Flagstaff and the Navajo Nation, as well as improve public health, achieve environmental justice, and spur the local economy. Bold federal investments to help modernize the transportation sector, which 71% of the public supports, can spur the advancement of such programs to create economic opportunity for all Arizonans.
