WHAT: Media are invited to join Moms Clean Air Force for a panel on “Clean Air, Climate, Health Equity—And Inequity: What Must Be Done For Our Children.” Climate change is a significant threat to the health of Ohioans—especially mothers and children of color. This online conversation will bring elected officials, moms, and an expert on the national racial disparity in birth outcomes together to discuss the intersection between climate and health equity. Panelists will discuss how environmental injustice impacts the health of Black mothers and children, the real-life impact of climate change to human health, and how the audience can engage with lawmakers and health care experts to demand stronger protections from climate and air pollution.
WHO: The program will be moderated by Almeta Cooper of Moms Clean Air Force and features:
- Congresswoman Joyce Beatty
- State Representative Paula Hicks-Hudson
- Dr. Arthur James, MD
- Katrina Blasingame, Moms Clean Air Force Supermom
WHEN: The discussion will broadcast on Facebook Live Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 12 PM ET and rebroadcast Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 3 PM ET.
WHERE: Both the broadcast and rebroadcast will air on Moms Clean Air Force’s Facebook page.
