Ferndale, MI – Saturday, August 3 from 11:00am to 3:00pm ET, the Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance (MEVA), in partnership with Moms Clean Air Force, EDF Action, Sierra Club, and Tesla Owners Club, will host the inaugural Clean Cruise EV Festival. The first-of-its-kind, this event will bring together Michigan elected officials, EV industry leaders, and climate advocates from across Michigan to celebrate and promote sustainable transportation.
Amy Rogghe, Executive Director, Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance:
“The Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance is thrilled to announce and host the inaugural Clean Cruise! Electric vehicles are pivotal in addressing many pressing challenges of our time. They are integral to a broader transition towards cleaner, healthier, and safer communities. Maintaining Michigan’s long standing leadership in the automotive industry, both nationally and globally, is crucial for fostering a strong and prosperous state economy. This transition must happen swiftly and equitably, ensuring access to its benefits for all Michigan citizens. I am proud to contribute to this transformation and to share the extensive benefits of electric vehicles with the people of Michigan.”
The event will feature a range of electric vehicles from various manufacturers, demonstrating the diversity and advancement of EV technology. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the vehicles up close, experiencing their sleek designs, innovative features, and impressive performance. In addition to the EV display, there will be presentations and discussions highlighting the environmental and health benefits of transitioning to electric transportation, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.
Congresswoman Haley Stevens (D-MI) – District 11:
“I’m thrilled to join the Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance for the newest iteration of Metro Detroit’s classic car cruises, featuring EVs! Every American child deserves to breathe clean air and the EV transition is part of making that a reality for generations to come. Thanks to MEVA and Moms Clean Air Force for making this event happen and continuing to raise awareness of the steps we can take to ensure clean air is part of our communities today, tomorrow, and always.”
Elizabeth Hauptman, Moms Clean Air Force:
“As a mom of a child with asthma, I see firsthand the importance of clean air for our children’s health. As a field organizer with Moms Clean Air Force, a national organization of over 1.5 million parents dedicated to fighting for cleaner air and a healthier climate, I’m proud to join forces with the Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance for the inaugural Electric Clean Cruise.
