WEBINAR: Clean Energy Means Better Jobs and Lower Costs for Families in Florida and North Carolina

email Email Linkfacebook Share on Facebooktwitter Share on X

Press Statement October 15, 2025

CONTACT: DKC News, MomsCleanAirForce@dkcnews.com

WHAT: Bob Keefe, the Executive Director of E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs) will sit down with Moms North Carolina Field Organizer Ashley Hillard on Thursday, October 16th at 7:30pm ET to talk about why the shift from fossil fuels to cleaner energy is vital for a stable environment and healthy families. This transition is not just about protecting the health and wellbeing of our children; it’s about ensuring they can thrive in affordable communities with good jobs and have secure futures.

Clean energy has been a powerful engine for opportunity by bringing work, investment, and growth to states across the country, and this conversation will focus on the growing clean economies in Florida and North Carolina. This is the second webinar in our series with Bob Keefe, with the first installment focused on Georgia.

In recent years, nearly two dozen large-scale clean energy projects have been announced in North Carolina, driving job growth more than 50% faster than the state overall. Florida saw similar momentum, with clean energy jobs growing nearly 2.5 times faster than the state’s overall employment in 2023.

Today, that progress is under threat. The current administration’s attacks on clean energy incentives are stalling growth and putting good jobs at risk — and raising energy utility costs. Join us to learn how smart climate and energy policy has improved local economies – and what families and individuals can do now to help protect this progress.
