Between electric school buses and tailpipe pollution–free passenger cars, it seems like zero-emission vehicles make headlines every week. Thankfully, the Department of Transportation (DOT) is rolling out funding for the infrastructure necessary to support this electric vehicle (EV) boom.
That’s why our Michigan Field Organizer, Elizabeth Hauptman (pictured), joined EDF Action, Mayor Andy Schor, and other community leaders in Lansing to celebrate an $8 million grant from DOT that will allow the city to significantly expand its EV charging network. Elizabeth says that accelerating the EV transition means “we’re going to have cleaner air and less pollution for our kids.”
