In 2021, Montgomery County Public Schools pledged to electrify their its entire bus fleet. Yet, in August 2022, they bought 64 diesel special education buses. And just days ago, the MCPS Board of Education approved the purchase of 90 more diesel special education buses. This decision is detrimental to students, communities, and the environment.
On November 1, Moms Clean Air Force will join our partners at Chispa and the Maryland League of Conservation Voters for a rally to hold MCPS accountable for their decisions to purchase diesel buses and demand they keep their promise to transition to clean, zero-emissions electric school buses. Join us at the MCPS Board of Education building!
