Moms Clean Air Force, Sierra Club Georgia Chapter, and Georgia Interfaith Power & Light will commemorate Juneteenth through a conversation highlighting the injustices that African American people endure. It will discuss how Juneteenth marks a date of major significance in American history, and shows us that freedom and racial equality have always been a hard-fought battle for black Americans—and that battle continues to this day. This event will examine those specific battles and how individuals are working to move toward true environmental justice for all.
Watch live on Facebook. The event will air at 6 PM ET on June 17 and again on June 19.
Moderated by Dr. Tonya Howard Calhoun, National Field Manager at Moms Clean Air Force, Atlanta, Georgia.
