Let’s Get Rolling

Moms’ Electric School Bus Tour

Moms Clean Air Force is hitting the road this summer—in the cleanest, quietest, safest way possible—for the sake of our children’s health and future.

Join us virtually or in person for our Summer 2021 “Let’s Get Rolling” events as we tour the country to build support for clean, electric school buses.

With plans underway to clean up and invest in a once-in-a-generation infrastructure package as part of the American Jobs Plan, we are organizing events in cities across the country with moms, health professionals, community members, school officials, bus manufacturers, and local, state, and federal government and elected officials to showcase our readiness to transition America’s fleet of 470,000 diesel school buses to zero-emission electric buses.

We must move away from diesel-polluting buses to cleaner, more efficient buses, to protect the health of the children and drivers who ride these buses every day and to reduce the carbon pollution that is heating up our climate.

Why Electric School Buses?

Twenty-five million children still ride diesel-powered school buses, exposing them to harmful diesel pollution that can trigger asthma attacks and interfere with their ability to learn.

Diesel exhaust is a known human carcinogen. In addition to short-term problems like coughing, headaches, and nausea, breathing diesel fumes has been shown to damage both the lungs and the heart.

Even worse, diesel pollution inside the bus can be 5–10 times higher than outside the bus. That means that children may be getting an extra-large dose of diesel pollution during their school commute.

Electric school buses help clean up the air we all breathe. They run on battery power, with no tailpipe emissions. That means no harmful diesel pollution and no dangerous climate pollution.
