ECOMADRES NOW IN ESPAÑOL
We are proud to announce that all EcoMadres resources will now be available in Spanish! With millions of people in the United States preferring to read their news in Spanish, we hope this transition will make our resources more accessible to our Spanish-language dominant audiences. You can now browse through our resources and select “leer en español” at the top; you can make your voice heard by signing a petition in Spanish; and our monthly newsletter will now also be available in Spanish and English.
Join our growing community! EcoMadres fights for the health of Latino families impacted by air pollution and climate change.
CLEAN ENERGY PLAN WINS
Our EcoMadres organizers Mercedes and Ylenia are working hard to support federal climate investments in the Southwest. Funding from the Clean Energy Plan, which includes the Biden administration’s landmark climate and clean energy law, the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as additional infrastructure investments, will help communities across Arizona and Nevada. This plan includes funding for electrification of our homes and vehicles, as well as increasing locally produced clean energy in Arizona and Nevada.
Mercedes and Ylenia recently hosted a webinar about EPA’s Clean School Bus Program to discuss how the states can attain more electric school buses. Federal investments under the Biden administration also commit almost $400 billion to mitigate climate change and $60 billion specifically for environmental justice concerns. The Clean Energy Plan will protect families across the United States by slashing climate pollution and improving air quality, which reduces harmful health impacts, such as heart disease and premature births. It also helps families economically, decreasing utility costs like air conditioning and making them more affordable.
