It has been a hard week. As my friend and colleague Dominique Browning wrote yesterday, “This election has delivered the worst possible outcomes for our fight to cut fossil fuel pollution.”
But as Moms, we will not let despair overwhelm us—we’re going into Warrior Mode.
Over the last four years, we advocated fiercely to cut climate pollution and protect our families’ health—and we saw significant progress. We must hold the line on all we achieved.
Congress returns to Washington, DC, for a post-election work session next week. Let your lawmakers know our families are depending on them to oppose any attempts to weaken historic progress on clean energy, clean transportation, and clean air protections.
Tell Congress: Hold the Line on Progress to Cut Climate Pollution
Global warming is upon us. We are already seeing its devastation, including dangerous hurricanes, record-breaking heat, flooding, and drought. We can’t afford to lose ground.
- We must protect the largest climate investment in U.S. history—the Inflation Reduction Act—which put us on a path to cut climate-warming emissions 40% by 2030.
- We must keep federal funds for climate solutions, like electric school buses, clean energy projects, and local climate action plans, funneling into our communities.
- We must protect bold federal standards to reduce harmful air pollution from oil and gas operations, power plants, and cars and trucks.
Then stay tuned: Next week, on November 12, we’re joining our partners for a massive national day of action. We’ll be calling our lawmakers as they return to the Capitol to make sure our message is heard: Commit to progress on reducing fossil fuel pollution.
