EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin is on a pollution spree. He has announced a proposal to roll back limits on climate pollution from fossil fuel power plants, historic protections finalized just last year by the Biden EPA to address the growing dangers of global warming.
Join Moms this summer in taking action against this harmful rollback—and other rollbacks to come. Undoing climate protections threatens the health and future of children like mine and yours.
Tell EPA: Hands Off Climate Pollution Limits for Power Plants
As it is, fossil fuel power plants are responsible for one-quarter of the climate pollution generated by the U.S.—we absolutely cannot afford to lose these critical protections.
Zeldin’s attack on climate pollution standards for power plants is a direct assault on our ability to protect children from increasingly dangerous extreme weather, which climate scientists have been telling us for years is linked to human-caused greenhouse gas emissions.
Every family in the U.S. is already feeling the impacts of global warming caused by climate pollution. Where I live in Vermont, we’ve been hit two years in a row with record-breaking summer flooding that has destroyed homes, businesses, and lives.
We are not alone. Across the country, families are struggling with catastrophic wildfires that happen all year long. We are grieving summers too hot and too smoky for children to play safely outdoors. We are stunned by the devastation of hurricanes that grow more intense each year.
It is unimaginable that we would look away from our responsibility to act in this moment. It is inconceivable that we wouldn’t try to prevent every fraction of a degree of warming that we can. And yet that is what Zeldin is doing with his pollution spree and this proposed rollback, aiming to drive up air and climate emissions in the name of corporate profits.
Moms Clean Air Force has fought for health-protective power plant pollution safeguards for over a decade. We fiercely oppose these malicious attempts to roll back limits on climate pollution for power plants—there is nothing more important than our responsibility to protect a healthy and livable future for our children.
Tell EPA not to keep their hands off strong climate pollution protections from power plants.
