I have bad news for kids and families everywhere: EPA has formally repealed all federal climate pollution protections for cars and trucks. Now Congress is trying to go after long-established state standards for greenhouse gas and smog-forming vehicle emissions.
It’s time to fight back. Join Moms in calling on our lawmakers to oppose this unwarranted and reckless attack on state authority, our air, and public health.
Tell Congress: Don’t Cancel Lifesaving State Clean Car Standards
These state standards are proven to clean up dangerous smog, a powerful lung irritant that can worsen asthma, decrease lung function, and lead to premature death.
Children, with their developing lungs, are especially vulnerable to this pollution. As so many of us at Moms know, watching a child gasp for air after playing outside near a busy street, rushing them home for a nebulizer treatment—this is a pain no parent or child should have to endure.
So why would we eliminate protections that reduce asthma-triggering pollution?
The fuel-efficient cars on the road today already meet these standards. This effort to cancel existing protections is dangerous and cruel—especially given how disastrous it could be for children’s health.
Make time today to join Moms in urging Congress to oppose the effort to eliminate long-established, lifesaving state clean car protections.
