This installment of our Virtual Cafecito series in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month focuses on education and remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Join us for a conversation between Las Vegas City Councilwoman Olivia Diaz and our Las Vegas field organizer, Cinthia Zermeño Moore. They’ll be discussing what steps Councilwoman Diaz is taking to support her community and ensure equal access to remote learning.
Councilwoman Diaz represents Vegas’s Ward 3, a seat she has held since 2019. Previously, she was Nevada Assemblywoman from 2019 to 2018 representing District 11. She has a Master’s Degree in bilingual education and lives in Las Vegas with her husband and son.
Cinthia Moore is our Las Vegas field organizer and has been advocating for clean air and water for over 10 years. She also served on the Parks & Recreation Board for the City of North Las Vegas, where she advocated for more access to green spaces.
