Charleston, WV – In conjunction with US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm’s visit to West Virginia this week, during which she will meet with Sen. Joe Manchin and announce DOE funding for West Virginia-based energy projects, Moms Clean Air Force is making available solar entrepreneur Keena Mullins to speak on the positive impacts clean energy jobs would have in her state.
Keena Mullins is a co-owner of Revolt Energy and a member of Moms Clean Air Force in West Virginia. She lives in Charleston with her husband and their four children. Keena, daughter of a coal miner, recently authored a compelling op-ed in her state’s Gazette Mail in which she discusses multi-generational poverty and the potential for clean energy to lift West Virginians out of poverty. In her op-ed, Keena strongly calls for increased investments in renewable energy to spur a thriving economy for West Virginians:
“We need meaningful investments in growing energy industries, like solar and wind, incentives and support for clean energy businesses to open in West Virginia, and state and federal policies that promote energy innovation. With our ingenuity and work ethic propelling us forward, we can make the most of our clean energy potential and put West Virginians to work.”
Please contact us if you’re interested in scheduling some time to talk with Keena Mullins about Secretary Granholm’s visit and what clean energy means for West Virginia.
