WHAT: Join Moms Clean Air Force and our coalition partners for a day at the New Mexico State Legislature. Information tables will be set up in the Halls of History at the Roundhouse. Community advocates will also visit committee hearings where priority bills are being heard and get a chance to give public comments. There will be remarks from elected environmental champions in the Rotunda at noon.
“With the decline in climate action at the federal level, it is our children who are most vulnerable to the health impacts we are seeing now and into their future,” says Giovanna Rossi, Moms Clean Air Force’s New Mexico Field Organizer. “As a mother, I am grateful to live in a state that has led the way on health and pollution protections for all families, and especially those living near oil and gas operations. We have the opportunity this legislative session to do more on climate and meet a goal of zero net emissions by 2050. There is no time to waste on combating climate pollution and we must act now by moving forward with strong and comprehensive strategies for climate resilience and clean air before it is too late. Every child deserves to breathe clean air.”
