Investing in our communities
Thanks to the largest climate legislation in US history—the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)—and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), cities and localities can choose from a historic array of funding opportunities for local environmental improvements.
Moms Clean Air Force is a resource for mayors and other local officials looking to secure some of this funding for their communities. We have pinpointed programs that are available to cities and can let officials know when application periods are open.
Our goal is to ensure funding is reaching the places it’s needed.
Inflation Reduction Act funding
Inflation Reduction Act funding is already making a difference in our communities:
- $53.4 million has gone to enhancing air quality monitoring in underserved communities.
- $278 billion has been invested in clean energy projects across the country.
- More than 170,000 new jobs have been created in 44 states.
There is funding available to increase access to clean energy and electric vehicles, to reduce air pollution in schools, to expand air quality monitoring in underserved communities, to develop and implement local and state climate action plans, to advance environmental justice, and much more.
