In an op-ed published in the New York Times, our Director and Co-Founder, Dominique Browning (pictured), urges us to forget the Anthropocene. We’ve officially entered the Obscene Era.
- Dominique’s op-ed opens with a spotlight on the growing global plastics crisis. The convenience and ubiquity of plastic products and packaging come at a steep cost to our health.
- But she writes about the plastics issue as part of a larger problem that includes the “braided crises of climate degradation and pollution and toxic chemicals.”
The op-ed is a candid summary of the environmental threats that are jeopardizing our health, but at its core, it is a call for action as we come face-to-face with the challenges of this “all-too-human era.”
