Moms Clean Air Force will join the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, DC, on May 18 for its Health Issue Summit. This full-day event is an opportunity to dig deeper into how health impacts our daily lives. During a series of panel discussions and breakout sessions throughout the day, attendees will explore how health policies and practices affect our communities and explore what changes are necessary to create a more equitable future all.
EcoMadres Project Manager Carolina Peña-Alarcón will be a featured panelist in a discussion titled “A Better Environment for Better Health,” hosted by the Environmental Defense Fund and the Natural Resources Defense Council. This session will explore how extreme temperatures, droughts, wildfires, severe storms, water contamination, rising CO2 levels, and other climate events directly contribute to a wide range of health risks disproportionately faced by communities of color.
