Washington, DC—Last night, EPA moved to abandon legal defense of a rule that would strengthen limits on particle pollution (PM2.5). In response, Moms Clean Air Force Director and Co-Founder Dominique Browning released the following statement:
“Soot is a killer. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin has just moved to abandon protecting people from soot. Soot—a.k.a. particle pollution—is a major contributor to chronic diseases like asthma, cardiovascular disease, and cancers. Zeldin’s move will mean more lung cancers, more asthma attacks, more heart attacks, more premature births—more families hit with the stress and trauma of illness. This is the opposite of Make America Healthy Again! Why did the U.S. decide that going to war against clean air was a good idea? Why did EPA decide to declare war on the American People?”
