Studies linking environmental factors to cancer have been multiplying in recent years. The President’s Cancer Panel of 2008-2009 outlined the dangers of environmental factors to produce cancer in much detail supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute. The state that the “true burden of environmentally induced cancer has been grossly underestimated”. Children in particular are much more affected by these factors than grown adults. The panel also pointed out that women carry a higher risk factor due to hormonal predispositions.
Moms Clean Air Force fights to protect the Clean Air Act, to support the EPA rulings on Mercury and Air Toxins and the Renewable Energy Standards. To reduce environmental risk factors that can lead to cancer we fight for cleaner air in Michigan.
