Floridians, especially Hispanic communities, have been targeted by disinformation campaigns from oil and gas lobbyists attempting to greenwash the term "natural gas" by portraying it as clean, sustainable energy. However, natural gas is a fossil fuel and far from the environmentally friendly option its name suggests. It's crucial for all Floridians, particularly those in Hispanic communities, to understand the truth about natural gas, which powers 75% of our state. As moms, we are committed to protecting our children and their environment. In this Florida Climate Week session from October 2024, we’re unmasking what Florida’s dependence on natural gas means to our health and why it’s imperative to shift to clean energy sources.
