Rep. Kim Schrier | Stay-In for Climate Action!

This year, we aren’t playing around. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we aren’t holding our happy, crowded, buzzing and bubbling annual Play-In for Climate Action in Washington, DC. Instead, we're asking legislators across the country to join us for virtual events and conversations with their constituents to talk about air pollution, climate action and what we can do to fight the climate crisis where we live.

Congresswoman Kim Schrier represents Washington’s 8th Congressional District. Prior to being elected to Congress in 2018, Kim spent her career as a pediatrician, working with children across the Puget Sound region and helping families navigate the health care system. As the only woman doctor in Congress, and as a patient living with Type 1 diabetes, Kim understands the very real fear of health care costs and access for people living with pre-existing conditions. And as a physician who has worked in a broken health care system, Kim understands what changes need to be made to make it work better for both patients and providers. She lives in Sammamish, Washington, with her husband, David, and son, Sam. In this year’s House appropriations package, Congresswoman Schrier introduced a provision with support from Moms Clean Air Force to maintain strict standards around Mercury Air Toxins and ensure that all children can breathe clean air.
