What you need to know, and how to speak up.
In February 2026, EPA rescinded the Endangerment Finding, rolling back the legal and scientific foundation of the agency’s ability to regulate climate-heating greenhouse gases.
This might sound technical, but the impact is anything but. Moms Clean Air Force is working to break this down in real terms, showing how EPA's decision could affect our children’s health, our communities, and everyday life for generations.
What is the Endangerment Finding?
EPA issued the Endangerment Finding in 2009 based on extensive scientific evidence showing that climate pollution endangers human health. We know that climate pollution is heating the planet, supercharging hazardous extreme weather like intense heat waves, stronger storms, and longer wildfire seasons. The finding acknowledges EPA's legal responsibility to protect people from the health impacts of global warming and related extreme weather.
Without the Endangerment Finding, the federal government’s ability to address climate pollution is dangerously limited. EPA’s decision to revoke it puts so much at risk: our families’ physical and mental health, our long-term economic stability, and our children’s right to grow up in a healthy, stable climate.
Why this matters to your community
Failing to limit climate pollution means
- more extreme heat affecting outdoor activities and sports,
- increased air pollution linked to asthma and respiratory illness,
- higher costs tied to climate impacts (insurance, food, energy), and
- greater risk to vulnerable communities, especially babies and children.
