On February 28, 2022, Florida Moms hosted a virtual conversation with Coral Springs Commissioner Nancy Metayer. Commissioner Metayer talked about her work in the community, Black History Month, and what the Build Back Better Act’s climate provisions mean for Florida.
Ms. Metayer serves as Coral Springs’ first Black and Haitian-American woman commissioner. She is an environmental scientist and former member of the Broward County Soil and Water Conservation District. She has worked with multiple government agencies and nonprofit organizations to improve environmental conditions, water, sanitation, and public health. She is establishing Coral Springs as a leader in sustainability and resiliency with new initiatives that aim to mitigate the consequences of climate change.
