On March 14, 2022, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan visited Flint Hill Elementary School in Vienna, VA, to highlight the community benefits that will be achieved through the billions in electric school bus funding contained in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Administrator Regan joined Moms Clean Air Force, Mothers Out Front, FCPS Superintendent Dr. Scott Braband, and students from Flint Hill Elementary and James Madison High School at a press conference to talk about the movement to electrify the nation’s school buses. The event was co-hosted by Moms Clean Air Force, Mothers Out Front, and Fairfax County Public Schools.
Fairfax County has the second largest school bus fleet in the nation, with more than 1,600 buses. There are eight electric school buses currently in its bus fleet with a goal of transitioning the county’s entire school bus fleet to electric by 2035.
