More than 6 million premature deaths each year from heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and respiratory diseases are attributable to air pollution. That’s more than the annual number of deaths from AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined.
This discussion, hosted by Delaware Interfaith Power & Light, is about the health impacts of air pollution in local communities, especially communities of color, which are disproportionately located near toxic waste sites, refineries, and other environmental hazards.
Panelists include Mollie Michel, Moms Clean Air Force Project Manager for Communications & Strategic Partnerships, based in Philly; Dr. Steph Lee, MD, MPH, FAAP, Physicians for Social Responsibility PA; Dr. David Donohue, MD, Progressive Health of Delaware; and Rep. Larry Lambert, Delaware General Assembly.
