WHAT: Columbia, MD residents of Cedar Creek and River Hill, the Cedar Creek HOA, and environmental advocates will host an educational event titled “A Plastics Problem, Not a Pyrolysis Solution,” on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center 7246 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD. The event aims to raise awareness about the potential dangers of the chemical recycling plant that WR Grace plans to construct just 70 meters from residential homes, the Middle Patuxent River, and the Robinson Nature Center. This session will provide the community with critical information about the health, environmental, and zoning implications of the proposed facility, as well as an opportunity for impacted residents to share personal stories.
