Press Statement October 7, 2025

CONTACT: DKC News, [email protected]

WHAT: Join Moms Clean Air Force this Thursday, October 9th at 7-8pm EDT for a special Children’s Environmental Health Day conversation with investigative journalist Mariah Blake, who will share insights from her new gripping exposé of the petrochemical industry, They Poisoned the World: Life and Death in the Age of Forever Chemicals. Drawing on years of reporting, she reveals how these man-made substances—found in everything from lipstick and cookware to children’s clothing—have contaminated our bodies and environment, and why they pose risks such as cancer, liver damage, endocrine disruption, and developmental issues.

Becoming a mother inspired Mariah’s journey to understand how toxic chemicals endanger our health and what we can do to protect future generations. In conversation with Moms Clean Air Force National Field Manager Maria Finnegan, she will discuss her book, the challenges of raising children in the age of chemical pollution, and the inspiring grassroots movements that are fighting to turn off the tap on toxic chemicals like PFAS. She will also suggest concrete steps we can take to protect our families from petrochemicals, and answer audience questions.
