WHAT: While the fossil fuel industry wants you to think that natural gas power plants are a clean alternative for generating electricity, the reality is they produce some of the most potent and dangerous climate pollution as well as soot, mercury and other toxic pollutants. This Thursday, local officials, health experts, and clean air advocates will hold a press conference, urging the Environmental Protection Agency to set the strongest possible carbon pollution standards for new and existing power plants, highlighting the significant dangers and public health threats these facilities pose to Georgia residents. The event is sponsored by the Climate Action Campaign. See event webpage here.
