Moms Clean Air Force Iowa has joined Environment Iowa and Physicians for Social Responsibility on this event featuring a panel of speakers that will talk about the relationship between transportation and community health. Speakers will explore environmental justice implications of vehicle electrification and help us understand how policy decisions can affect communities differently. Attendees will also learn how Iowa is addressing electrification of city buses, school buses, and mail trucks or could do so in the future.
Transportation is a leading cause of carbon emissions and air pollution in the United States, and the most vulnerable communities–including communities of color–suffer disproportionately from it. Investing in clean and alternative transportation is one of the best courses of action to protect public health while also addressing climate change. At the end of the panel discussion, we’ll provide easy actions everyone can take to advocate for clean air a livable climate for all Iowans.
