On April 8, 2020, Moms Clean Air Force’s EcoMadres and Corazón Latino hosted an exclusive Facebook Live Virtual Cafecito, featuring Nevada Assemblywoman Selena Torres in conversation with Karina Martinez about the coronavirus response in Nevada, and how the state is supporting the Latino community during this pandemic.

About Assemblywoman Torres:
Assemblywoman Torres (NV-3) is the Chair of the NHLC (Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus) Covid-19 Task Force. She was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her father fled the Salvadoran civil war and her mother left Hawaii to pursue her career as an English teacher. Her parents taught her the values of hard-work, education, and the importance of giving back to the community, motivating Selena to become a public school teacher and serve Nevada in the state legislature.

Assemblywoman Torres Bachelor’s in English Literature from University of Nevada, Reno and a Master’s in Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

About Karina Martinez:
Ms. Martínez is a bilingual communications strategist with extensive experience in civic engagement, digital, and community outreach.
