The Urban Sustainability Forum (USF) programs are developed through the collaborative efforts of local organizations with the common goal of making Philadelphia the greenest, most livable, and most sustainable city in America. The Academy’s Center for Environmental Policy works with the other members of the USF steering committee to produce the Urban Sustainability Forums, which are public programs that are typically held on the third Thursday of the month. These programs began in 2005 and have covered a wide range of topics, including: urban transportation and water infrastructure, green building, land use, public health and safety, food quality and access, sustainability metrics, zoning codes, energy conservation and legislation, among many others.
