Christine is mom to two young girls and has been a champion of the environment at the local, state and federal level for over a decade. She served as a former congressional staffer, and recently ended her five year tenure as the mayor of Lafayette.
Lafayette is an historic mining town home to several megawatt solar gardens, curbside composting and a roadmap to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030. Despite her city’s efforts on sustainability, neighboring communities are home to significant oil and gas extraction (with over 20,000 oil and gas wells in the adjacent county).
Christine advocates that regardless of borders, we all share the same air – our children deserve to have equal protection against pollution and the impact of the climate crisis regardless of income, background, political influence or geography.
