Carolina Peña-Alarcón manages the EcoMadres program. She began volunteering with Moms Clean Air Force in 2019 at the Play-In for Climate Action. She is dedicated to empowering community members and policymakers to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Her work with EcoMadres has been featured by Noticias Telemundo, El Zol Radio, Newsweek, Hispanic LA, El Tiempo Latino, Univision Noticias 24/7, and Maryland Matters.
Carolina has extensive experience working with UN agencies, including UN Migration, USA for IOM, and the Pan-American Health Organization. Previously, Carolina spent over a decade at the Organization of American States, CLASP, and US National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where she enabled technical assistance and knowledge sharing toward a clean energy transition in more than 30+ countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Carolina holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a MSc in environment and energy management. She is a native Bolivian and currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
